Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. The Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) have mobilized millions of personnel to secure the regional head elections across Indonesia on  Wednesday (26/11/2024).

TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto said that 168,000 military soldiers have been assigned to assist the police in safeguarding polling stations nationwide. 

“We’ve deployed helicopters, personnel carriers, Boeing and Hercules aircraft, and naval vessels to support operations,” he said on Tuesday.

Commander Agus urged the public to maintain calm and avoid falling victim to provocation. 

“Create an atmosphere of peace and security. Do not be swayed by irresponsible narratives,” he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.

INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that 1.4 million police officers are stationed at polling sites to oversee the voting process and prevent potential conflicts. 

“We’re ensuring security from polling to vote tallying to monitor logistics and address challenges in disaster-affected areas,” he said.
