Inp.polri.go.id - Ambon. Officers from the Southwest Maluku Sub-regional  Police walked for three hours to deliver election logistics to a remote polling station in Pota Besar village, Pulau Wetang district, ahead of the regional head elections.

“With inadequate road infrastructure, delivering election logistics in some areas of Southwest Maluku requires extraordinary effort,” said Southwest Maluku Police Chief Superintendent Pulung Wietono on Tuesday (26/11/2024).

Accompanied by election committee members and security personnel, the officers carried two ballot boxes, four voting booths, and other essential supplies on foot through challenging terrain to ensure timely delivery.

“It reflects our commitment to safeguarding democracy, ensuring that even remote communities can exercise their voting rights. Every vote counts, and it’s our duty to ensure that no one is left behind in this democratic process,” added Chief Pulung, as quoted by antaranews.com.
