Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid is set to meet Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X to address ongoing issues surrounding land rights in the region.
“We will discuss the implementation of land rights in Yogyakarta with Kanjeng Sultan,” he said on Wednesday (18/12/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The meeting follows a lawsuit filed by the Yogyakarta Palace against state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) over land ownership at the Stasiun Yogyakarta area. The palace seeks symbolic compensation of Rp1,000.
Minister Nusron confirmed that land classified as Keprabon—reserved for palace structures—has been clearly recognized as Kasultanan property. However, differing interpretations between the Special Region of Yogyakarta Law and the Agrarian Law regarding non-Keprabon land have sparked disputes, necessitating further talks.
Sultan Hamengkubuwono explained that the lawsuit aims to clarify the legal status of Sultan Ground (SG), a Kasultanan asset. He emphasized that SG is not state property but is managed as an asset leased to PT KAI, which holds only building-use rights, not ownership.
