inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Social Affairs, Saifullah Yusuf, invites the youths to follow the examples and values of heroism. This call was stated in front of Jakarta high school students. According to him, these values are not just role models, but a legacy that must be continued.
"For the commemoration of Heroes' Day in 2024, we will uphold the theme “Emulate Your Heroes, Love Your Country”. And every year we always hold several activities in its celebration, such as today's activity of instilling heroic values to students representing various high schools," he said on Friday (11/8/2024).
He mentioned three important values that need to be emulated. The first is the value of patience, which he considers important for today's young generation.
According to him, technological advances often make the young generation impatient where everything can be delivered almost instantly. This has an impact on the ability to understand problems thoroughly and sort the information properly.
He considered that many young people want everything fast and are easily influenced by inaccurate information. Therefore, patience is very important to understand something deeply.
The second value is collaboration and synergy for the common good. He reminded us that even though they have different backgrounds, the heroes remain united for independence.
The heroes were able to unite their thoughts and views for a common goal, namely Indonesian independence. They showed that diversity can be a strength when there is collaboration.
The third, and lastly, is the value of fighting with determination and strong faith for the future. He advised the young generation to dare to look to the future and not just think about today.
The heroes fought with strong faith and belief in the future of the nation. They not only tried, but also prayed with full hope.
