Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection has called on law enforcement to investigate the discovery of a meth pipe and empty liquor bottles in a kindergarten classroom in Pelalawan, Riau.
The items were found by teachers cleaning an unused classroom following a school break.
Acting Deputy for Special Child Protection Pribudiarta Nur Sitepu condemned the inciden on Friday (11/4/2025), describing it as a grave threat to children’s safety and well-being.
“We urge authorities, including local government and law enforcement, to conduct a thorough investigation to identify the perpetrators and prevent future occurrences,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The Ministry stressed the incident violates child protection principles outlined in Law No. 35/2014. The ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining schools as safe and nurturing spaces.
The case has sparked public concern, particularly after a video of the discovery circulated on social media. Investigations are ongoing.
