Inp.polri.go.id - Medan. North Sumatra Regional Police had set up a ‘Command Center’ to enhance security for the upcoming 2024 Aquabike Jetski World Championship at Lake Toba.

The international event, scheduled for 13 to 17 November 2024, involved significant security measures.

“Our ICT Task Force has established a Command Center to manage security operations,” said Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi, the North Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations, on Saturday (17/11/2024).

The center was equipped with advanced technology, including CCTV surveillance, mobile command units, and facial recognition systems.

Security coverage included 20 surveillance cameras at key locations, such as the UMKM stalls, waterfronts, and race start areas in Samosir. CCTV units were installed at Pantai Bahari Parapat, Tongging, and Silalahi.

“We also deployed 40 mobile cameras connected to the Command Center across 10 venues in Samosir, Parapat, Silalahi, and Tongging,” Chief Hadi added, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Supporting equipment includes radio communication rigs, Logitech cameras, and weather monitoring apps.

A total of 1,495 officers will be deployed, comprising 882 North Sumatra Police personnel and 613 from local police units, across four host regions: Karo, Dairi, Simalungun, and Samosir.
