inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mataram Sub-regional Police, West Nusa Tenggara, are urging all elements of society to maintain a conducive and safe public security during Ramadan.

"This joint effort is crucial for all parties, especially the parents, to constantly monitor the activities of their family members (teenagers)," said the Head of Operations for the Mataram Sub-regional Police, Police Assistant Superintendent Yozana Fajri Sidik, on Monday (2/23/2026).

Adolescent activities that should be prevented during Ramadan often occur at night, even during the pre-dawn meal. He stated that during late-night patrols during Ramadan, his team often finds teenagers were actively hanging out.

From these locations, they are often found engaging in activities that have the potential to disrupt public safety and comfort at night.

"These include firecracker wars and motorcycle races. We hope parents will continue to tighten their monitor on their children's activities," said Sidik.

In an effort to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the community during Ramadan, Sidik has developed a security strategy by deploying personnel from relevant work units and involving other security elements from the Indonesian National Military (TNI) and the government.

He also urged all parties involved to prioritize preemptive and preventive measures. 

By implementing these activities collaboratively, Sidik hopes that this year's Ramadan will go as planned, remaining safe and comfortable.
