Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Police are hunting a suspect in the robbery of a French tourist’s camera at Sunda Kelapa Port, North Jakarta, on 5 March 2025.

“We have so far arrested three suspects, identified as UTA (28), AP (29), and TM (31), along with four fence suspects, identified as SG, BD, FH, and ADP,” said Tanjung Priok Port Su-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief Assistant Senior Inspector I Gusti Ngurah Putu Krisnha Narayana on Saturday (8/3/2025).

The final suspect, identified as IM, allegedly snatched the camera from the victim, Marion Marie Parent, using both hands. 

The suspects face charges under Articles 365 and 480 of the Criminal Code for violent robbery and receiving stolen goods, according to antaranews.com.

Police recovered the stolen camera, valued at tens of millions of rupiah, and plan to return it through the French Embassy. A crime scene reenactment was conducted as the victim is set to return to France.

Authorities seized two mobile phones, cash totaling Rp1,842,000, and a knife used in the crime.
