inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Banten Regional Police are implementing restorative justice mechanisms in handling a traffic accident in Pandeglang involving motorcycle taxi driver Al Amin Maksum, which resulted in the death of his passenger, Khairi Rafi.

The Head of Public Relations for the Banten Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Maruli Hutapea, stated that this step was taken after both parties agreed to reconcile and submitted a request for restorative justice.

"The parties have agreed to hold discussions and pursue restorative justice mechanisms. Pandeglang Sub-regional Police investigators have facilitated this process," Maruli told the media in Serang City on Wednesday (2/25/2026).

He explained that with the parties' request letter, investigators will immediately process the request in accordance with regulations.

"With the parties' request for restorative justice, investigators will immediately process the request and issue an Investigation Termination Order (SPPD) in accordance with applicable procedures," he said.

Maruli emphasized that the case is still under investigation and no suspects have been named.

"Regarding the issue circulating on social media that a suspect has been named, we need to emphasize that no suspect has been named at this time and the process is still under investigation," he said.
