inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the Nusantara Capital City Authorities (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono said that President Prabowo Subianto is set to designate IKN as the political capital city in 2028.

In realizing those goals, President Prabowo instructed his officials, including OIKN and the Public Works Ministry to review the construction design of legislative and judiciary office complex, which is to be built in the second phase of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) construction.

“He sets the target that in 2028, IKN will be the political capital city. The president now has instructed us to complete the construction of the judiciary office ecosystem, from the office to the place of living,” says Basuki on Tuesday (1/21/2025).

Basuki continues that for the basic design of the judiciary and legislative complex, the blueprint has been already made by the Ministry of Public Housing and Public Works. However, now the President demands the design to be reviewed further.

“We and the Ministry of Public Works will form a design team that will work directly under the President,” says OIKN Chief.

In a closed meeting discussing IKN construction, President Prabowo approved the second phase of the IKN development which will take place in 2025–2029. He also approved the budget allocated for it of Rp48.8 trillion.

The Head of OIKN said that the second phase of development will not only cover the ecosystem for the legislature and judiciary, but also the supporting ecosystem, and access to the IKN.
