Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The PLN Mobile Proliga 2025 volleyball league is set to commence on Friday at the Jatidiri Sports Hall in Semarang, Central Java.
“Semarang’s enthusiasm is remarkable, and we are excited to return here. With the large Jatidiri arena and its enthusiastic crowd, fans will enjoy watching national and international volleyball stars,” said the Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI) Chairman Imam Sudjarwo in a statement on Thursday (2/1/2025.
The league runs from Friday to 11 May 2024, with Semarang hosting both the opening matches and the final four from 24 to 27 April 24 to 2024, according to anataranews.com.
Sudjarwo emphasized the prestige of Proliga 2025, highlighting the balanced distribution of local and international players across teams, ensuring fierce competition. He also hopes the league will nurture young talent for Indonesia’s national teams, including the U-21 squad for the World Championship in August 2025.
Proliga 2025 will feature a brief pause during the fasting month of Ramadan. After the regular season concludes on 23 February 2024, the final four stage begins on 17 April 2024.
The competition includes five men’s teams: Jakarta LavAni Transmart, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi, Palembang Bank SumselBabel, Jakarta Garuda Jaya, and Surabaya Samator. The women’s division features seven teams: Jakarta Electric PLN, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, Jakarta Pertamina Energi, Jakarta Livin Mandiri, Bandung bjb Tandamata, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia, and Yogya Falcons.
“Every match will be intense, with top-tier local and foreign players showcasing their skills,” said Proliga Chairman Hanny Surkatty.
