Yogyakarta Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ihsan said on Tuesday (27/5/2025) that investigators launched a full investigation following a crime scene reenactment and technical analysis by the traffic accident unit. Six witnesses have been questioned.

Suspect CPP is accused under the Traffic Law for causing death through negligent driving. He has not yet been detained, pending a summons, according to antaranews.com.

Urine tests showed the suspect was negative for alcohol and drugs, countering public speculation. Investigators are analyzing the speed of the BMW car he drove using scientific methods.

The case sparked widespread public scrutiny over concerns of preferential treatment, allegedly linked to the suspect’s family background.
