Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State-owned railway company PT KAI Jakarta branch has implemented a blacklist system for people found guilty of sexual harassment at stations and on trains to deter offenders and enhance passenger safety.

“This blacklist policy serves as a strong deterrent, ensuring that train travel remains a safe mode of transportation,” said Ixfan Hendriwintoko, PT KAI Jakarta Manager of Public Relations, on Monday (24/2/2025).

Passengers are encouraged to report incidents through PT KAI’s official channels, including social media and its call center.

Psychologist Vivi Ade Cerliana praised the move, urging victims to report cases, emphasizing that legal protection is available.

According to a 2022 survey by the Coalition for Safe Public Spaces (KRPA), 23% of reported sexual harassment incidents in public spaces occurred on public transport. Indonesia’s Online Information System for the Protection of Women and Children (Simfoni PPA) recorded 880 harassment cases in public facilities, making it the second most common location after homes.
