Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and Bhayangkari, the  organization of Indonesian police officers’ spouses. launched the Pekarangan Pangan Lestari (P2L) program at the Police Academy on Monday (24/2/2025), aimed at bolstering national food security and supporting the free nutritious meal initiative.

The program utilizes available land in police facilities, including dormitories, stations, and schools, for sustainable food production. The Police Academy will serve as the pilot location, featuring tilapia ponds, hydroponic gardens, and food security educational sites.

“P2L reflects our commitment to food self-sufficiency by maximizing land use across all Polri units,” said Bhayangkari Chairperson Juliati Sigit Prabowo, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Governor of the Police Academy Inspector General Krisno Halomoan Siregar said that produce from the program would supply dormitory residents, the Police Academy cooperatives, and the free meal program.

The initiative, designed to be replicated nationwide, seeks to foster long-term food resilience through integrated production, distribution, and waste management systems.
