Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that the Rolex watches gifted to players and officials of Indonesia’s national football team were purchased using President Prabowo Subianto’s personal funds, not state money.

“What matters is that Indonesia won. Yes, absolutely it was from personal funds. No state money involved,” he said during a press briefing at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (10/6/2025).

The statement came amid public discussion over the luxury gift, which was given following Indonesia’s victory over China in the 2026 World Cup Qualifier match.

State Secretary Prasetyo emphasized the gesture was a moral appreciation from President Prabowo for the national team’s performance and its contribution to national pride.

He urged the public to view the gesture positively and uphold a sense of nationalism and unity in celebrating the team’s achievements.

President Prabowo hosted the players and officials at his residence on Friday in his South Jakarta private residence for a celebratory lunch, during which he presented the Rolex watches.
