Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi announced Friday 30/1/2026)that the government will transfer the operations of the 28 private companies with revoked licenses to State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) via the Danantara investment agency.
The firms, primarily operating in Sumatra’s forestry and mining sectors, had their permits cancelled following serious regulatory violations on forest area utilization and administrative non-compliance post recent floods in the island.
"We decided to hand these over to our SOEs to ensure the continuation of economic activities vital for national interests and job creation," Secretary Prasetyo said, as cited by antaranews.com.
While legal enforcement continues against the original owners, the government prioritized stabilizing employment and environmental restoration. The transition of the firms operation aims to overhaul corporate governance while maintaining industrial productivity across 22 forestry concessions and six mining and plantation sites.
Authorities are currently tailoring specific transfer mechanisms for each asset to ensure a integration into the state’s portfolio, emphasizing that strategic resources must remain productive under professional, state-led oversight.
