There Will be an Increase in Traffic Flow: INP Chief Says

The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, when leading the cross-sectoral meeting to prepare for securing the Christmas and New Year holidays, says the peak of the Christmas and New Year homecoming flow is predicted to occur on December 21st and December 28th, 2024.

"The prediction is that the homecoming flow will likely occur around December 21st because school children are also on their break at that time. We also predicted that on December 28th, it will be the second peak of the homecoming flow," he explained at the Auditorium Room of STIK , South Jakarta.

During his remarks he noted that there would be an increase of 2.83 percent in traffic flow.

"Which means around 110.6 million people, where this figure can certainly increase following the situation at the field," said the Chief of Police.

General Sigit emphasized that this coordination meeting is expected to provide good security not only related to homecoming, but also Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations. He also ensured that the Police and related stakeholders are ready to carry out security and provide maximum service to the community.

It is worth to note that the Coordination Meeting of 2024 Operational for the Security of Christmas 2024 & New Year 2025 attended by Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Head of Traffic Corps Inspector General of Police Aan Suhanan, Commander of the Indonesian National Military Commander Agus Subiyanto, Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, and other related agencies.
