Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Two Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers, Second Brigadier Dedi Tambunan and Second Bhayangkara Raimon Rirey, both aged 20, were fatally shot by unidentified assailants in Mulia, the capital of Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua, on Thursday afternoon (15/5/2025).

Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of Damai Cartenz Task Force, confirmed that the incident occurred around 5.35 pm local time. 

“There were casualties, two of our personnel were killed, but we do not know who the perpetrators are or what their motive was,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The officers were ambushed shortly after purchasing fuel  in Kampung Usir Belakang, just 50 meters from their post. Both sustained fatal gunshot wounds to the chest and back. Their bodies were evacuated to RSUD Mulia Regional Hospital.
