Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) Marthinus Hukom assessed that women, especially mothers, play an important role in building family resilience as the main bulwark to prevent drug abuse.

He said that the development of good morals is rooted in the family, where mothers have a central role in shaping the character and moral resilience of their children.

"We are facing a serious challenge with the increasing drugs circulation targeting various levels of society, including the younger generation and women," states Marthinus Hukom when attending the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Indonesian Women's Empowerment Forum (FPPI) on Tuesday (2/11/2025).

He also highlighted the increasingly complex circulation of narcotics in Indonesia, including the emergence of various new types of narcotics and increasingly sophisticated smuggling methods.

Therefore, a creative approach, such as short films, is very effective in conveying the message of the dangers of narcotics in a way that is more easily accepted by the public.

Marthinus appreciated FPPI's initiative in producing a short film with an anti-narcotics theme and involving BNN in the production process.

"This is something that is perhaps beyond our expectations that there are parties who have good intentions to make a film and involve us in making it. Hopefully this can be useful for the campaign against drugs," said Martinus.

As a concrete step to strengthen cooperation, the Head of BNN encourages a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between BNN and FPPI as a basis for stronger synergy in drug prevention efforts.
