The Damai Cartenz Task Force and the Indonesian National Police (INP) DVI Unit re-announced the results of the identification of the bodies found at the Kum estuary yesterday. One body was evacuated on Wednesday (4/16/2025) and successfully identified as Ferdina Buma, a man from Rumusu Village, Central Papua.
A press conference was held at the Dekai Regional Hospital, Yahukimo Regency, attended by the Director of the Yahukimo Regional Hospital, Dr. Glenn M. Nutanyo, and the medical team from the Bhayangkara Jayapura Hospital.
The identification process was carried out based on the match of three secondary data collected from antemortem and postmortem data with the IHK 2025-015 label.
"The body was found at Kum estuary, and today it was successfully evacuated and identified as Ferdina Buma, born in Nabire on April 30, 1995, male. Currently the body has been handed over directly to the family," said Head of Bhayangkara Jayapura Hospital, Superintendent Romy Sebastian.
He appreciated all elements involved in the process of handling the body, including in this last evacuation.
Romy also said that with the identification of Ferdina Buma, a total of 16 bodies have now been identified and handed over to their respective families.
With the completion of this identification process, the authorities hope that its presence will not only provide clarity on the identities of the bodies but also provide peace for all the families of the victims.
