Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Papua Regional Police confirmed that 10 suspects linked to the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) have been arrested and are undergoing legal proceedings at the Yahukimo Sub-regional Police and the local court.
“With this evaluation, we expect the Yahukimo Police and Papua Police to adopt a comprehensive approach in enforcing the law while ensuring public safety and protection,” said Senior Superintendent Cahyo Sukarnito, the Papua Police Head of Public Relations, Friday (24/10/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Over the past eight months, 34 people have been killed and 10 injured, including two military and police personnel, following a series of attacks by KKB and its sympathizers in Yahukimo, Papua Mountains.
Chief Cahyo said that 95 percent of violence targeting civilians and security forces in the area was committed by KKB groups.
To respond, Papua Police conducted an analysis and evaluation meeting led by the Deputy Police Chief, focusing on improving coordination and response strategies in Yahukimo’s challenging geographic terrain.
