Inp.polri.go.id - Kendari. The Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police has deployed 100 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers to Papua to secure PT Freeport Indonesia, one of the country’s key mining operations.

The officers will join Operation Amole II 2025, a national task force under the command of Papua Regional Police, aimed at protecting vital state infrastructure amid ongoing separatist threats in the region.

“This assignment reflects our readiness and commitment to safeguard national security and integrity,” said Inspector General Didik Agung Widjanarko, the Southeast Sulawesi Police Chief, during the deployment ceremony in Kendari on Friday (17/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

He urged the Brimob personnel to serve with discipline, professionalism, and sincerity while maintaining coordination with the Indonesian Military (TNI) and local security units.

The farewell ceremony, attended by local top police officials and families of the officers, was marked by emotional yet proud moments as the unit prepared to depart for one of Indonesia’s most challenging security zones.
