inp.polri.go.id - Papua. 13 civilians of Yahukimo survived the attack and ambush by the Armed Criminal Group when the entourage crossed the street with a truck. Unfortunately, the truck driver, Abdul Muzakir (32), did not survive and his truck was burnt down by the criminal group.
The Head of Damai Cartenz Ops Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Bayu Suseno says that the 13 truck passengers were running away when the truck was ambushed by the criminal group.
“When the truck was stopped, the 13 civilians, who were from Papua-Yahukimo, immediately ran away to safety. According to the reports, the 13 passengers have returned to their homes uninjured,” explains Bayu Suseno.
So far, police have examined one of the passengers who survived the ambush. The victim confirms that the other 12 civilians had survived the attack and have returned to their homes. He says that he and the other 12 passengers were about to go farming.
According to the witness examination, there are six Armed Criminal Group who ambushed the truck. The six assailants were clearly carrying rifles, machetes, bows and arrows.
“We call for the civilians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security authorities to prevent security disturbance potentials,” said Bayu.
