inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The Metro Jaya Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate has arrested 58 suspects of cockfighting gambling in Bekasi City.

“There are 20 suspects of cockfighting gambling and 38 others who participated in the gambling. The gamblers were charged with Article 303 with maximum imprisonment of 5 years,” said Metro Jaya Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Director, Senior Superintendent Wira Satya Triputra on Wednesday (7/31/2024).

Wira says that the 20 suspects of cockfighting provide the arena, schedule, and organize the match for the gamblers to set their bet.

“To be able to watch the cockfighting, people are charged IDR 50,000 for entrance fee,” said Wira.

In the case uncovering, police seized the cockfighting arena and its equipment, also a hundred millions of rupiahs in cash.

The cockfighting organizers will be charged with Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
