inp.polri.go.id - Banten. The Banten Regional Police's Professional and Security Division held a corn harvest to support the food security and self-sufficiency program in the Padali neighborhood, Pabuaran Village, Walantaka District, Serang City.

The harvest was attended by Vice Chief of the Banten Regional Police, Brigadier General Iwan Saktiadi, along with the Head of the Banten Regional Police's Propam Division, Senior Superintendent Murwoto. 

Murwoto stated that the activity was part of the support for the government's priority programs, specifically supporting food security and self-sufficiency. 

"The planted area covers 10 hectares. This time, 4 hectares of the land harvested yielded approximately 1.4 tons of corn. The remaining harvest is estimated to be around 18 tons," he said, Thursday (September 10, 2026).

According to him, the corn harvest will then be distributed to the Serang State Logistics Agency (Bulog).

The corn cultivation was carried out in collaboration with local farmer groups, namely the Baru Mekar Farmers Group and the Rahayu Farmers Group.

Meanwhile, Vice Chief of the Banten Regional Police, Brigadier General Iwan Saktiadi, further emphasized that the corn harvest demonstrated the police's commitment to supporting government programs through collaboration with the community.

"This program demonstrates the police's support for the government, as outlined in Asta Cita, specifically food security and food self-sufficiency," he said.

He hopes the food security program will continue after this harvest. Replanting will be done after the rainy season arrives.

"We hope the target can be achieved, and even a surplus can be achieved by the end of the year. We can exceed or even meet it by the end of December," he said.
