Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A 14-year-old boy died after falling from an upper floor of the Lotte Avenue building in Mega Kuningan, Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Thursday.
"It's true that the victim died after falling from a height," Setiabudi Police Chief Senior Inspector Firman said on Friday (23/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The victim, identified as AR, was a junior high school student from Bekasi. Police are investigating the incident, including motive and chronology, with surveillance footage (CCTV) as part of the evidence.
"We're looking into the motive. The family was only able to give a statement last night," Chief Firman added.
The boy was taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) but was later declared dead. His body has been returned to the family for burial.
Police have questioned four witnesses, including a security guard. One witness reported seeing the victim on an upper floor but did not witness the fall itself. Authorities await autopsy results to confirm the cause of death.
