Inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. The Bengkulu City administration has reported that at least 140 houses sustained damage ranging from light to severe after a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck early Friday morning (23/5/2025).

"We have set up command posts and deployed our rapid response teams in the field. We've also erected platoon tents at several impacted locations, including in Betungan, which was significantly affected," said Will Hopi, the Head of the Bengkulu City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The quake also damaged six public facilities, including two schools, two mosques, a sub-district office, and a community hall. Emergency response efforts are ongoing, including field assessments, logistical aid distribution, and temporary shelter setup for displaced residents.
