Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang.  In preparation for the eruption of Mount Ile Lewotolok, the Emergency Disaster Response Command Unit (SKPDB) in Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has activated 17 special posts. Andris Koban, the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lembata Regency, confirmed the activation, saying that the posts are fully prepared for their responsibilities, antaranews.com reported. "These 17 Special Posts are ready and equipped to handle the situation," he said on Friday (1/3/2024). Preparations have been made in accordance with the contingency plan for Mount Ile Lewotolok's eruption. Andris emphasized that volcanic activity is ongoing, with ash emissions and lava flows reported from the Mount Ile Lewotolok observation post.  The latest eruption, reported by the Mount Ile Lewotolok observation post, occurred at 1:13 pm, with ash reaching approximately 900 meters above the peak. Residents, particularly those in Jontona and Todanara villages, are urged to heed instructions from local authorities.
