Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Ministry of Transmigration has deployed 2,000 members of the Tim Ekspedisi Patriot (TEP), consisting of lecturers, professors, and students from seven top Indonesian universities, to 154 transmigration areas across the archipelago.
“This expedition involves academics from various universities to help achieve economic equality in different regions,” said Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, on Tuesday (26/8/2025), as quoted by antaranws.com
The team will serve for four months, working with 17 local universities. Their mission includes conducting research, mapping regional economic potential, and offering recommendations for development strategies.
The participants include undergraduate students, around 400 master’s students, 500 alumni, and professors. They represent a wide range of disciplines, from environmental and chemical engineering to social sciences and even Russian studies.
“This program is expected to generate solutions to regional problems and support sustainable economic development,” Viva added.
The universities involved include Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), University of Indonesia (UI), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Diponegoro University (Undip), IPB University, Padjadjaran University (Unpad), and Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS).
