Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Indonesia acquired additional 20,000 pilgrim quotas for 2024 pilgrimage. The decision was announced by Indonesian President Joko Widodo during his bilateral meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud.
“In less than 12 hours, the commitment for additional pilgrim quotas has been given. More or less, 20,000 more of Indonesian pilgrim quotas would be given for next year pilgrimage,” says the President in his official statement on Friday (10/20/2023).
During the meeting, the president also explained the long queuing condition of pilgrim in Indonesia. Currently, the waiting time for Indonesian pilgrim to go to Mecca has reached 47 years.
“And thankfully it has been well responded,” says President with smile. He appreciates his tour to Saudi Arabia Kingdom has been welcomed warmly and able to produce beneficial deals.
