Inp.polri.id - Jakarta. The Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Inspector General Karyoto, has issued a call for responsible social media usage as Indonesia approaches the 2024 elections, emphasizing the importance of unity and infomred choices during this democratic event.
Chief Karyoto stressed the significance of making prudent use of social media, avoiding provocations, and exercising their right to vote, discouraging any form of electoral absenteeism.
"In anticipation of the upcoming elections,vlet's be wise in our social media usage, resist provocations, and ensure we exercise our right to vote," he declared while joining the Director of Community Development of the Jakarta Metro Regional Police in the morning prayers on Sundah (22/10/2023).
Chief Karyoto addressed critical social issues concerning public safety, such as street fights and drug abuse. He urged parents to exercise vigilant supervision over their children to prevent them from becoming involved in such activities.
In addition to these recommendations, Karyoto suggested that parents encourage their young ones to engage in regular worship at mosques to create a generation that is devout, intelligent, and compassionate toward others.
This initiative, known as "Subuh Keliling", was introduced to enhance social bonds and spiritual values in preparation for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Benny Suprihartadi, Chairman of the Cut Mutia Mosque Foundation, expressed his gratitude for Chief Karyoto's presence at the dawn prayers, stating that it would inspire them to remain steadfast in their worship.
