The homecoming and return flow for the 2024 Eid al-Fitr is predicted to increase 30% more than the previous year, says Bengkulu Regional Police Traffic Director, Senior Superintendent Joko Suprayitno on Sunday (3/22/2024). “The Ministry of Transportation and Indonesian National Police (INP) predicts there would be an increase in traffic volume of 30% for both during the homecoming and return flow of Eid Al-Fitr,” said Joko. The increase in traffic volume is because of the euphoria post-Covid-19 Pandemic that has been occurring for around two years. Therefore, in facing the huge traffic flow, the police party has prepared various steps in ensuring smooth traffic. “Soon, we will accompany our police chief to Jakarta to discuss the preparation ahead Eid Al-Fitr along with ministerial parties,” continued Joko. Moreover, ahead of the homecoming season, police will also hold Nala Ketupat Operation which will be followed by related institutions. In the Nala Ketupat Operation, officials will build several posts, both service post and security post at the appointed strategic locations. (ad/ek/pr/nm)
