inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police arrested 26 criminals who committed various crimes in their jurisdiction from January to April 2026.
"The 26 suspects arrested were involved in 15 crimes," said Vice Chief of the North Jakarta Metro Police, Superintendent Rohman Yonky Dilatha, Tuesday (April 14, 2026).
He explained that the case disclosure was the result of integrated work between the Criminal Investigation Unit and the police sector from January to April 2026, with a primary focus on tackling street crimes.
The 15 criminal cases included aggravated theft (curat), motor vehicle theft (curanmor), and serious assault.
Police also confiscated several items of evidence strongly suspected of being used in the crimes, including one car and seven motorcycles.
"Furthermore, eight sharp weapons and one cell phone were seized as evidence," said Rohman.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, Superintendent Awaludin Kanur, stated that the crime trend shows a predominance of motorcycle theft and the use of sharp weapons.
Motorcycle theft was the most common crime, with nine cases. Sharp weapons have also been rampant in recent months.
He hopes that the publication of the results of these case investigations will have a deterrent effect on perpetrators and raise public awareness.
"We also emphasize the importance of public participation in crime eradication efforts," said Awaludin.
Finally, he urged the public not to hesitate to report any criminal activity to the authorities.
"Collaboration between authorities and people is a crucial factor in creating a safe and conducive environment," he said.
