inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Director General of Corrections at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, Mashudi, stated that by June 2026, 2,834 high-risk inmates would be transferred to super-maximum security prisons in Nusakambangan, Central Java.

"Currently, a total of 2,834 high-risk inmates have been transferred to Nusakambangan under the leadership of Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto," explained Mashudi on Monday (6/8/2026).

He explained that the purpose of these transfers is to provide guidance and security while remaining in line with the goals of corrections, namely to create independent inmates who recognize their mistakes and are ready to reintegrate into society.

The latest inmate transfer took place early Monday morning, with 134 inmates from several prisons transferred to Nusakambangan. 

"We reiterate that the purpose of this transfer is to provide appropriate guidance and security," he said.

Mashudi explained that the high-risk inmates transferred to Nusakambangan Prison came from four regions: 36 in Riau, 33 in North Sumatra, 32 in Jambi, and 33 in Lampung.

He stated that the transfer process went smoothly according to applicable standard operating procedures, led by the Director of Internal Security and his team, along with officers from the regional office, Mobile Brigade Corps, and police.
