Inp.polri.go.id - Martapura. The Chief of Banjar Sub-regional Police Superintendent Muhammad Ifan Hariyat estimated that approximately 3.3 million pilgrims participated in the commemoration of 19th Haul of  Muhammad Zaini bin Abdul Ghani, also known as Guru Sekumpul, in Martapura, South Kalimantan. Haul refers to the death anniversary of a religious leader. "The estimated number of attendees at the Guru Sekumpul's Haul, reaching 3.3 million, was obtained from various mobile service providers based on people using their phones during the event," he said on Sunday (14/1/2024). According to Chief Ifan, millions of pilgrims attending the commemoration came not only from Banjar Regency and South Kalimantan Province but also from outside Kalimantan and even abroad, antaranews.com reported. He said despite the colossal number of attendees, the procession of the commemoration proceeded in an orderly and smooth manner without significant obstacles, and there were no notable incidents from the beginning to the end of the commemorative event. "The entire sequence of the Guru Sekumpul's commemoration proceeded peacefully, orderly, and smoothly without any significant hindrances, and there were no incidents disrupting the devotion of millions of attendees," Chief Ifan said, In addition to the over 3 million pilgrims, the number of buses and various other vehicles was substantial, totaling 601 buses at 150 points scattered throughout various locations. The count of four-wheeled vehicles, parked at 196 points, amounted to 151,119 units, while motorcycles totaled 1.2 million, and boats or motorized vessels counted 533 units anchored at various docks.
