Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) has revealed that at least three women in Indonesia become victims of domestic violence  every hour. "Since Komnas Perempuan began its annual records with service institutions in 2001, at least three women have been victims of domestic violence in their own homes every hour," said Komnas Perempuan Chairwoman Andy Yentriyani in Jakarta on Sunday (15/10/2023). She emphasized that the high number of unreported cases of KDRT can be attributed to various factors, including shame, uncertainty about where to report, and advice from close relatives to be patient, antaranews.com reported. "Victims must receive help and rehabilitation. That is stipulated in the Domestic Violence Elimination Law ," she asserted, encouraging victims  to report domestic violence cases to break free from the cycle of domestic violence. Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga said that victims and witnesses of KDRT can report these incidents through the Women and Child Friends (SAPA) 129 service, which is integrated into all 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. SAPA 129 can be accessed through the hotline 129, WhatsApp (WA) at 08111129129. The SAPA 129 application available on the PlayStore. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
