Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. A total of 320 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers from the 3rd Pioneer Regiment in Sorong, Southwest Papua, have been deployed under operational control of Papua Police to secure the gubernatorial election revote scheduled for Wednesday.

In addition to Brimob forces, Papua Police has mobilized 8,884 security officers, comprising the Indonesian Military (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (INP), and local civil defense (Linmas), to safeguard logistics and polling stations across nine districts and cities in Papua. A total of 750,959 registered voters are expected to cast their votes in 2,023 polling stations.
“The situation remains safe and under control. Hopefully, this calm will continue so citizens can go about their activities without fear,” said Chief Sukarnito.
