Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. The Chairperson of General Election Commission (KPU) of Papua, Steve Dumbon says there are 36 polling stations in four regencies that will hold follow-up voting. “The 36 polling stations will carry out follow-up voting with 20 polling stations for Mamberamo Regency in four districts, one polling stations for Keerom Regency in one district, five polling stations for Waropen Regency in one district, and 10 polling stations for Sarmi Regency in one district,” said Steve on Thursday (2/15/2024). Steve says the reason behind why voting in the 36 polling stations are late because of election logistics did not arrive on time due to weather. For example, plane used for distributing the logistics could not find the coordinates due to weather. “Meanwhile, in Keerom Regency to Towe could not be accessed due to flood and it would take six hours if crossed by foot,” explained Steve. Unfortunately, Steve also could not pin-point the exact date for the voting in the 36 polling stations. “I am still waiting for the report from KPU in four regencies regarding when will we hold the vote,” said Steve.
