Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Traffic Directorate of the Aceh Regional Police reported 480 traffic violations captured by Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) cameras since January 2024.
Police Senior Superintendent M. Iqbal Alqudusy, the Director of Traffic, mentioned that out of these, 332 have been confirmed, with four-wheeled vehicles being the primary offenders. This contrasts with the 6,260 violations recorded in 2023, of which 2,642 were confirmed, and 3,618 are pending confirmation.
"On average, the most common types of vehicles involved in violations are four-wheelers (5,006) and two-wheelers (1,254)," he said.
He urged the public to avoid traffic violations as ETLE cameras continuously monitor Aceh's roads, emphasizing, "The ETLE cameras will operate 24/7 and can read vehicle license plates. Violation tickets will be sent to the violators' homes through the Post Office."
Violations such as disregarding signs, not wearing helmets or seat belts, or driving against traffic flow at any time will be automatically recorded by these cameras, he added.
He underscored that this initiative aligns with the priority program of Chief of the INP Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, focusing on modernizing police technology in the era of Police 4.0.
