60 Million NIKs Linked with NPWP: Ministry

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Tax Directorate of the Ministry of Finance reported that 60,798,725 Identity Card Numbers (NIK) have been linked with Taxpayer Identification Numbers (NPWP) as on February 20, 2024. "Out of the total 73.13 million domestic Individual Taxpayers (WP), 60,798,725 NIKs have been matched, equivalent to 83 percent of the total to be matched," said Director General of Taxes Suryo on Friday (23/2/2024).

He explained that 55.9 million NIKs were matched through the system, and 3.9 million were matched independently via the tax office portal. However, approximately 12 million NIKs remain unmatched due to factors such as deceased taxpayers, individuals leaving Indonesia, or inactive NPWP. "We are also working with the Directorate General of Civil Registration to match the remaining 12.3 million NIKs," he said. He urged the public to promptly match their NIK with NPWP through socialization activities to ensure accurate taxpayer data for the future core tax system implementation. The full implementation of NIK as NPWP is scheduled for July 1, 2024, according to Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No. 136 of 2023.
