510 Officers Deployed in Search for Missing Officer in West Papua

Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. West Papua Regional Police have deployed 510 officers from various agencies in the third phase of search operations for First Inspector Tomi Samuel Marbun, who went missing during an arrest mission targeting an armed criminal group (KKB) leader in Teluk Bintuni.

West Papua Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Adi Prabowo said on Tuesday (22/4/2025) that the team includes members from the Indonesian National Police (INP), the Indonesian Military (TNI), and local administrations.

The operation, codenamed Alpha Bravo Moskona 2025, involves search and rescue activities, crime scene investigations, and reconstruction of the incident, which occurred on 18 December 2024, when First Inspector Marbun was swept away by the Rawara River in South Moskona District.

The search spans from Rawara River to Sebyar Aranday estuary and will run until 3 May 2025.
