inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. Bengkulu Regional Police conducted an autopsy on an unidentified body found by the public in the waters of Muara Jenggalu, Gading Cempaka District, Bengkulu City. The body was found on Sunday (4/20/2025) at around 14:30 WIB.

"Today we are conducting an autopsy to find out the identity of this mysterious body as we cannot proceed to the next step of investigation without it," explained Bengkulu Regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Sudarno on Monday (4/21/2025).

He said the autopsy was conducted at the Bhayangkara Hospital to reveal the identity and determine the cause of death of the victim. 

Police said that the body found was in a sack containing stones as weights.

According to him, the condition of the body was damaged, and some of its organs were missing because they were eaten by monitor lizards.

"As the body was put in a sack and there was a weight, it is suspected that there was an element of violence in the mystery behind his death," he said.
