54 Cases Uncovered by Food Task Force: INP Chief Says

Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reports the performance of Food Task Force in 2023 in maintaining food sustainability. General Sigit conveys there is an increase in law enforcement by the food task force than the previous year as 54 cases have been handled by the task force. “In 2022 there are 42 cases while in 2023 there are 54 cases. There is an increase of 28.57% or 12 cases,” reports General Sigit in INP Grand HQ Main Meeting Room on Wednesday (12/27/2023). The Police Chief detailed that there is one highlighted case which is the irregularities in the distribution of 250 tons of rice in Banten on February 10 2023. The case uncovers that the suspect repackaged the Bulog rice and sold it with premium price. "Seven suspects have been arrested and their documents have been moved to the prosecutor's office," Sigit says. In addition, Food Task Force have also conducted 158,173 preventive measures and have colaborated 187 times with stakeholders in 2023. (ay/hn/nm)
