Inp.polri.go.id – Tangerang. Tangerang Sub-regional Police reports criminal case goes 51 percent up in 2023 than in 2022. Police assessed that the increase is because of people have returned to their daily activity post-Covid era.
Tangerang Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Sigit Dany Setiyono says there are 979 criminal cases occurred in 2023. Meanwhile in 2022, there were 867 criminal cases.
“From the 979 criminal cases, 70 of them have been successfully uncovered. Furthermore, the hundreds of cases of criminal act are consists of sexual harassment, LPG gas smuggling, illegal land excavation, murder, gang violence, human trafficking, drugs abuse, and card theft,” explained Sigit on Tuesday (12/26/2023).
Sigit and his party would focus on uncovering the cases that disrupts the general public such as child predators and sexual harassment against women.
On the other hand, while the criminal cases got higher in 2023, Sigit says that they are also able to uncover cases much higher than last year. The police chief assessed the order in Tangerang is still well maintained.
“We implore the public to continue to immediately report to us if there are any criminal actions so that we could take further actions much earlier,” implore the police chief.
As was stated by the police chief, Tangerang Police have uncovered 208 drug criminal cases of the 211 cases.
