inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Cianjur Sub-regional Police, West Java, recorded approximately 551,750 vehicles entering and leaving Cianjur's main roads during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return travel period, which also boosted the local economy.
Cianjur Sub-regional Police Traffic Chief, Police Senior Inspector Aang Andi Suhandi, stated that of the hundreds of thousands of vehicles, 208,776 vehicles crossed the Cianjur-Bogor border during the homecoming and return travel period.
Motorcycles dominated the number of travelers crossing the Cianjur-Bogor border, with 123,468 vehicles. This figure is based on recapitulation data from March 20-25, 2026.
Breaking down, of the 551,750 vehicles entering and leaving Cianjur, 208,776 crossed the Cianjur-Bogor border, 158,064 crossed the Cianjur-Bandung border, and 184,910 crossed the Cianjur-Sukabumi border.
"Motorcycles dominated the traffic, with 123,468 vehicles, and cars, with 40,943 vehicles, with the highest volume occurring on March 24, 2026," he explained on Friday (3/27/2026).
The police recorded that during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return season, the preliminary number of accidents was eight fatalities and 16 injuries, a decrease compared to the previous year.
Andi also reported that economic activity along Cianjur's main route increased because most travelers rested at the numerous food stalls and restaurants along the route.
"This certainly has an impact on the economy because busy centers, food stalls, restaurants, and hotels in the Puncak-Cianjur area are crowded with travelers and tourists during the Eid holiday," said Andi.
