Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 5,614 security officers have been deployed to safeguard the inauguration of the House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2024-2029 term on Tuesday, at the DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta.

“We’ve deployed 5,614 joint personnel to ensure the inauguration proceeds safely and smoothly,” said Central Jakarta Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro, on Monday (30/9/2024).

The security team includes officers from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police, Central Jakarta Sub-regional Police, the Indonesian military (TNI), the Jakarta administration,, and other agencies. They will be stationed at strategic points around the parliamentary complex to maintain order, as reported by antaranews.com.

Officers will focus on securing access points to the DPR building and keeping the area around the main entrance clear. Traffic around the complex will be diverted as needed.

Chief Susatyo emphasized that no personnel will carry firearms and that they will respect any peaceful demonstrations.
