Indonesian Joint Security Personnel Took Down KKB Member in Yahukimo

Joint personnel of Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP), Damai Cartenz Ops personnel, and Yahukimo Marine Infantry Battalion 7th Task Force took down a person allegedly member of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and secured two witnesses at the location in Brasa River, Dekai District, Thursday (2/23/2024). The action was part of follow-up investigations and response from the Wings Air shooting incident back in February 17th, 2024. From that incident, the bullet caused airplane window glass shattered and scratched a soldier from Yahukimo 1715 Regional Military Command on his neck. The Damai Cartenz Ops PR Chief, Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramadhani says that during the raid against the suspected KKB member, joint security officials were met with resistance and involved in gunfights. Following the incident, Faizal told that the suspected member of KKB died due to the conflict and two witnesses were secured by the officials. “Two witnesses named MH (15) and BGE (15), while the identity of the alleged member of KKB who died in the gunfights is still being investigated,” said Faizal. Furthermore, Faizal adds that joint officials also confiscated evidence from the two witnesses which are 74 bullets of Cal.5.56 and two magazines of SS1, a cash of IDR 3 million and 50 thousand, one Solar Cell, Morning Star Noken, two Oppo cellphones, one Nokia cellphone, a wrench, two phone chargers and one cable type C. “Now the two witnesses have been secured in Yahukimo Damai Cartenz Ops post for the mean time as the two might be students. Meanwhile the suspected member of KKB who died has been evacuated to Yahukimo Hospital for further treatment,” conclude Damai Cartenz Ops PR Chief, Superintendent Bayu Suseno. (ad/ri/pr/nm)
