Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. As many as 758 police officers have been deployed to secure the operations of PT Freeport Indonesia , a designated national vital object, in Mimika, Central Papua.
The security operation, named Operasi Amole I 2025, will run for 183 days from 15 November 2025 to 14 May 2026.
“Personnel involved in this security operation total 758 officers. Throughout their duty, members must continue prioritizing pre-emptive and preventive measures supported by law enforcement and intelligence,” said Central Papua Regional Police Chief Brigadier General. Alfred Papare during the deployment ceremony in Timika on Saturday (15/11/2025).
He said that that Freeport Indonesia holds strategic economic value for Indonesia, making operational security a top priority. The joint operation involves the Central Papua Police, Mimika Sub-regional Police, and reinforcements from the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters, according to antaranews.com.
Security posts are spread across key operational zones, including the Port Site, employee housing, Moses Kilangin Airport, Kuala Kencana, Tembagapura, and the Grasberg open pit. Officers are also tasked with preventing illegal mining through coordination with local authorities, Freeport, and community leaders.
