Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia recorded more than 1.39 million foreign tourist arrivals in September 2025, a 9.04% year-on-year increase, according to Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana.
Cumulative foreign arrivals from January to September reached 11.43 million, up 10.22% from 2024.
“With the current growth trend, we are confident that foreign tourist arrivals will exceed 14 to 15 million in 2025, in line with the updated Government Work Plan,” she said in Jakarta on Saturday (15/11/2025), as cited by antaranews.com
Tourists from ASEAN dominated arrivals at 35.22%, followed by other Asian markets at 27.57%. Domestic tourism also surged, with 94.36 million trips in September, reflecting 13.19% growth. From January to September, domestic trips hit 901.9 million, contributing to positive net foreign exchange.
Deputy Minister Ni Luh Puspa noted tourism’s 3.96% contribution to Indonesia’s Q3 GDP, supporting 2025’s 5.04% economic expansion. To maintain momentum, the government introduced holiday travel discounts for air, land, sea, and ferry transport, effective from mid-December to early January.
