Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs repatriated 84 Indonesians linked to online scams from Myawaddy, Myanmar, to Maesot, Thailand, on Thursday.
The ministry said in a statement on Friday (28/2/2025 that the group comprised 69 men and 15 women, including three pregnant individuals, all in stable health, as reported by antaranews.com.
Since February 23, the ministry, along with the Indonesian embassies in Yangon and Bangkok, coordinated closely with authorities in Thailand and Myanmar. Thai authorities permitted their passage via the Second Friendship Bridge at the Myawaddy-Maesot border.
Upon arrival in Maesot, local authorities conducted health screenings, immigration checks, and human trafficking assessments, with the Governor of Tak Province overseeing the process.
The Indonesianswere transported to Bangkok before being flown to Indonesia
